Week 10

I have learned many things through this quarter, from how to interact with different people to what floor to study on at the library. I think the learning community was a good idea, and helped me meet new people. The first thing I am looking forward to when I get home is going on vacation to Las Vegas!

chapter 9

My most memorable experience from my service-learning activity was going to the library and learning about all the different idosyncrasies. This was very helpful to learn everything it has to offer, and can be useful in the years to come.

Week 8

If I was reflecting back on my time at Ohio University at age 93, I hope I would be talking about all the great experiences and friends I have made from going there. I would also hope to have many funny stories to tell my grandchildren about my time spent there. As far as the influence of Sara Gruen and Jacob, I do not know yet because I have not read the book or seen the movie.

Week 7

I am different from other OU students because I am a deeper thinker than most people, I am able to think outside the box and look at things in a different way than most people would. One experience I observed on campus this quarter where differences were not respected was on my floor. My roommate was woken up by people being too loud and told them to quiet down, after he told them that, they never stopped. It was resolved the next day after my roommate and the people who woke him up sat down and talked about adapting to each other.

Week 6

My academic advisor is Robert Brannan. I have not secured an appointment with him for advising yet, but plan to do so soon. The area I need the most help with is deciding which science class I want to take next quarter.

Week 5

My biggest time management "stumbling block" this quarter has not really been anything to be honest. I have tons of time to get my work done, and I have not found it to be hard to manage my work. It was much harder to manage my time in high school, than it is now in college.

Week 4

I have gone once to the library this quarter to study with a friend. We studied on the third floor, which was very quiet. I honestly didn't like it at all, I found it to be very distracting with all the people and I couldnt get internet connection. I like to just study in my dorm so that I can wear whatever, eat when I want to, and not have to walk back to my dorm when im done. I also prefer to study alone so there are no distractions. I probably won't be back at the library unless I really need to go.

Week 3

My roommate story that has to deal with communication happened the first day I moved into the dorms. My roommate, Mason, was already moved in and decided to take the bottom bunk because the beds were bunked, and not separated. I hated the idea of sleeping on the top bunk, and told him that we were going to have to separate the beds and rearrange the room so that I could have a place to put my bed. Through our brainstorming and communication, we were able to find a way to make everything fit, and have more room than when the beds were bunked.

Week 2

I personally haven't discovered too many resources yet at Ohio University, but i know from talking to people that there are a lot offered around campus. The main one that I have used so far are the SI groups that are offered in some of my classes. These are very helpful for reviewing newly learned material, and give you a better sense of what you will be tested on. I plan on taking advantage of more of the offered resources as the year goes on!

Week 1

One career aspiration would be to become a registered dietitian, but just so I could do it for fun on the side to help people seek the physique they want through diet and exercise. My main career aspiration would be to work for a supplement/nutritional/medical company, and work on their research/development team. My strengths as a student would be that I work hard, and I am very organized for the most part. My weaknesses as a student might be that I like things to be perfect, and I don't always give myself enough credit.
